NTSA congratulates NTSA 2022 Elite Advisor Carla-Ann E. Goedtke, CPFA™, CRES, for her outstanding and unique accomplishments. Goedtke’s firm, Investors Choice Financial Services, in Slayton, MN, practices through American Portfolios Financial Services. She serves 1,500 participants in 30 school districts and has $218 million in retirement assets under advisement.
For 25 years, Goedtke has been utilizing her financial planning expertise in the retirement market in Slayton. While it is in a rural area, “our practice evolved from client data on index cards to integrating multiple pieces of technology to provide clients with the best service possible,” she says. “Providing education to clients evolved from Community Ed programs to a full calendar of web meetings.” Goedtke serves as the private sector representative for Murray County on the SW Minnesota Workforce Council and is the current Vice Chair.
Goedtke believes in investing in the future of the industry. “We have many client families that we work with up to four generations. With those families, we have been part of their legacy story and want our younger clients to be able to learn and pass this down to the next generations,” she says. “One of our offices is in a college town, and we enjoy hosting an intern from the business or communications department each year. It is a joy to watch them learn about ‘all things financial,’ even if they are not going to go into this field. It’s an even greater joy when they come back and thank us for the values that they learned while working with us.”
