TGPC Credential Information

The NTSA Tax-Exempt and Governmental Plan Consultant (TGPC) credential is the only one of its kind in the retirement industry that specifically focuses on the niche but large market of 403(b) and 457(b) plans.  Earning this credential will prove to your clients and colleagues that you understand the specific rules and requirements for these plans.  

WHAT IT'S ABOUT
The online course includes a full downloadable pdf of the NTSA publication The Source for 403(b) and 457(b) Plans. The online course is broken into easier to follow modules following each exam topic area. The course guides the leaners through the learning objectives with reading assignments in The Source publication and content summaries. Each content area also includes knowledge checks to check your understanding of the content and provide feedback. There is a practice exam designed as a study tool to help you become more familiar with the testing style. Then finally there is the TGPC Credential Exam. 

WHO IT'S FOR
TGPC candidates should have 3-5 years' experience or have completed the ASPPA Retirement Plan Fundamentals certificate course.

WHAT IT TAKES
The TGPC credential program consists of an online program, a reference guide (The Source for 403(b) and 457(b) Plans), a practice exam, and the proctored credential exam.

Anyone seeking the TGPC credential should read the TGPC Candidate Handbook and the NTSA CE Policy.  

Once you have successfully passed the TGPC credential exam, you can apply for NTSA credentialed membership.

Notice: ASPPA will perform maintenance on the proctored exam system on May 2-3, 2022. Exams will not be available during the maintenance period.
