The NTSA is governed by a Leadership Council. It is responsible for setting the strategic direction and making policy decisions for NTSA. It also establishes NTSA committees. The voting members of the Leadership Council are the President, the President-Elect, the Immediate Past President, and at-large Leadership Council members. Kristine J. Coffey, CPC, CPFA
Executive Vice President and Founding Director, CPE Associates, Ltd., SOUTHWEST (Albuquerque, NM) and MIDWEST (Brookfield, WI)
As Executive Vice President and Founding Director of CPE Associates, Ltd., SOUTHWEST (Albuquerque, NM) and MIDWEST (Brookfield, WI), an international consulting practice (1999 ff), Coffey teams with non-profit and for-profit ventures, NGOs, and their leaders on projects from corporate finance to coaching, strategic and tactical planning to communications, marketing to group dynamics.
Coffey is the 2019 President of NTSA (National Tax-Deferred Savings Association), an ARA, (American Retirement Association) division of membership. She also serves as an ARA Senatorial Director and on the ARA GAC (Government Affairs Committee) Executive Committee. Having been elected to the NTSA Leadership Council in 2016, Coffey is Of Advice to the NTSA 2019 Elite Advisor Award Judging Committee, which she founded in 2014; as well, she is Senior Advisor to the 2019 NTSA Summit, with whom she has worked since 2009. In 2013 she was elected to serve on the ASPPA (American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries) Board of Directors, where she is a credentialed (CPC, Certified Pension Consultant) member. As ARA was formed, Coffey was re-elected to the ASPPA Leadership Council for a second term, A NAPA (National Association of Plan Advisors) credentialed (CPFA, Chartered Pension Financial Advisor) member, she inaugurated and co-chaired the NAPA DC Fly-In Forum; and she created, implemented and co-chaired the NAPA 401(k) SUMMIT conference.
With a Wells Fargo Advisors predecessor, Coffey created their Retirement Department and advised major, key accounts. Promoted to Senior Vice President and Director Business Services Group (Private Client Services), she pursued corporate development initiatives and was Executive Director of the EVEREN Foundation. A senior technical analyst at EMJAY Corporation, national plan administration firm, Coffey was promoted to Director of Marketing.
Earlier industry volunteer work involved the Securities Industry and Financial Management Association (SIFMA, f/k/a, SIA) where Coffey earned their Chairman’s Award and later their Excellence Award for her leadership of the Retirement and Estate Committee and creation of their Retirement conference, for which she was Chair and frequent speaker.
From Marquette University, Coffey earned a Bachelor of Science degree, with honors, and is a Securities Industry Institute graduate from Wharton, Bryn Mawr, PA.
