Editor’s Note: This is the first in a series of articles about the 2022 NTSA Elite Advisors.
NTSA congratulates NTSA 2022 Elite Advisor Virginia T. Harriett, CFP ®, CRES, for her outstanding, unique accomplishments. Harriett’s firm, Harriett Financial Group, Marlton, NJ, practices through Lincoln Investment. She serves 1,700 participants in 10 school districts and she has nearly $288 million in retirement assets under advisement.
Constant industry engagement has defined Harriett’s career. “I have had an extremely rewarding career, knowing I helped many people save more for their family’s future, helping them through life’s transitions, improving their retirement lifestyles, achieving their goals and giving them peace of mind around their finances. I have always tried to be a good listener, lending an empathetic ear during our meetings. I take a collaborative approach when working with clients. I have been a lifetime student of improving the client experience, reading lots of industry books and trying difference processes until I found one that works, and joining networking groups and sharing information with my colleagues.”
In addition to focusing on industry engagement, Harriett has an eye to the future. “I have welcomed four new junior advisors into my practice over the years, mentoring them, sharing knowledge and clients with them, and training them to become independent advisors. A few years ago, I hired a recent college graduate as a part-time office support person. She grew into a top notch sales assistant and just completed the paraplanner course. We are in the process of looking for her replacement so she can to promoted to become my paraplanner, so we can develop a new offering for our practice: Holistic Financial Planning.”
Harriet serves on the NTSA Leadership Council, and has done so since 2020; she chairs their Membership Engagement Committee. Contact her to volunteer in helping to secure new NTSA members and enhancing NTSA outreach to its existing members.
