NTSA Members Give Back!

In January, NTSA surveyed its members on their community service, and there’s great news about NTSA member’s involvement with their communities.

More than three-quarters—77%—volunteer their services in their communities. They demonstrate not only to their colleagues, but also to the world beyond, the importance of giving back and supporting their neighbors’ important outreach efforts.

Where are NTSA members volunteering? Schools and religious organizations tied for first place, followed closely by community service. Many also volunteer to help with sports teams and activities.

What is really encouraging is that half of these NTSA members volunteer in leadership roles, directing important efforts in their communities. Two-thirds support community endeavors financially, and 82% work on projects and events.

Consider these NTSA role models. Congratulations NTSA members. You make us proud.

On March 3, we open nominations for the Richard Ford Volunteer Service Award. Any ARA member can nominate a NTSA member to be considered. Two important aspects are recognized:

  • community/governmental service locally and/or nationally; and
  • NTSA volunteer service.
More information about the Richard Ford Volunteer Service Award is available here.
