Zingaro: Setting the Foundation for Growth

“A year of setting the foundation for growth” was how 2022 NTSA President Christopher Zingaro summed up the year of his tenure. He made his remarks at the opening of the 2023 NTSA Summit in Tampa, FL.

Reviewing the year, Zingaro noted that 2022 brought not only inflation and the easing of COVID 19 restrictions, it also brought changes to the retirement industry and threats of changes to the market. But it also brought the enactment of SECURE 2.0 and the arrival of Nathan Glassey as NTSA Executive Director, he added.

It also was an active year for the NTSA, Zingaro said. He noted that in 2022 the NTSA saw progress in a variety of areas.

  • Leadership Council. Zingaro said that the Leadership Council was rebooted, and noted that Mark Heisler, Fred Makonnen, and Jennifer Prosise became members.
  • CRES. Zingaro reported that the number of members with the CRES designation increased to 400.
  • Social Media. The NTSA’s social media presence increased in 2022, with an increase in posts on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
  • ERISA 403(b) Summit. The NTSA cosponsored the first ERISA 403(b) Summit.
  • Attendance. Zingaro noted that NTSA Summit attendance increased.

But “what we accomplished in 2022 is only the beginning,” said Zingaro, calling on NTSA members to help the NTSA continue to grow. It’s not just one person’s job to do that, he said, “it’s everyone’s job.”
