Diehl Honored with 2023 Richard Ford Volunteer Service Award

Susan Diehl, QPA, CPC, ERPA, TGPC, BCFTM, President of PenServ Plan Services, Inc., is the 2023 winner of the Richard Ford Volunteer Service Award. The award was bestowed at the Feb. 27 luncheon at the NTSA Summit in Tampa, FL.

Diehl, the 2012 Bob D. Schiller Award winner, is a long-time volunteer with the NTSA. Her service includes:

  • serving as 2013 NTSA President;
  • leading the Government Affairs, Legislative Affairs, and Professional Education Committees;
  • serving on the Awards, Business Intelligence, and Summit Committees; and
  • co-authoring The Source and the Best Practices Manual.

Diehl is an active volunteer in the community, as well. She and her family are deeply committed to community service through:

  • Cardinal Opportunities high-school mentoring program;
  • Operation Christmas Child;
  • Jesus Victory Garden; and
  • Family Promise of Montco, PA.

She has been active with Family Promise for 30 years; her children have joined her in service with the organization, and now her grandchildren do, too. Diehl is the September Host Coordinator, and coordinates 120 volunteers who bring food, fellowship, transportation, counseling, virtual education assistance, overnight shelter, and transitional housing. “It would take one life event for any one of us to become homeless,” Diehl remarked.

“You never know when you do something for someone how you have touched them,” said Diehl.
