‘Do the Right Thing:’ The 2024 NTSA Elite Advisors

Organizers and attendees of the 35th NTSA Summit honored the 2024 NTSA Elite Advisors in San Diego on Monday. Since the Awards’ 2014 inception, 44 NTSA financial advisors have been recognized with this achievement.

This year’s Elite Advisors are:

  • Larry Poole, CRES, Robinson and Associates, Albemarle, N.C.
  • Tony Schutte, CFP®, CRES, EFS Advisors, Rochester, Minn.
  • Jonathan Wicker, CRES, Lincoln Investment, Sewickley, Penn.

“It’s an honor to receive this award, and I don’t take it lightly. Doing the right is always the best thing.” - Larry Poole

“It has to do with being there, being known and being seen and doing what’s right, every time.”

“I think it goes without saying I’d like to thank the NTSA, the judging committee, my family, friends and everyone that supported me. I think one of the biggest differentiators we have is being part of the NTSA. We always feel like we are ahead of our competition and are state of the art in what we’re doing and what we offer with 403(b) plans. A lot of those ideas come from here.” - Tony Schutte

“One thing I’d like to tell everyone is if you can bring somebody next year that hasn’t been here before. If every single one of us brings one new person every year, we can continue to grow this and be better at what we do and continually do better than our competition that doesn’t come.”

“I want to thank NTSA for this award. It’s funny, I’ve been reflecting over the past two days that I wanted to be a teacher, and now I’m doing this, which is still in the education world." - Jonathan Wicker

"I have two mottos that I use with all my clients. One is that if you never tell a lie, you have nothing to remember. I always tell my clients, ‘You’re going to get the honest, straight-up approach from me and what I think.’ The other is if you do right by me, I’m going to do right by you. It has led to so many referrals from so many clients over time. You just show up and do the right thing. That was a motto I got from being here for the first time. If you do the right thing, good things happen.”
