Advisor Alley: It’s Back to School Time!

It’s that time of year again…Back to School! We’re not talking about a silly comedy starring Rodney Dangerfield from 1986, we’re talking about all those educators and school personnel that keep the schools running heading back into the schools for their academic year grind.

With back to school / open house nights right around the corner, now is the perfect time to speak with the school administrators to see if you can do something special for their employees.

Open house nights create a long day for your clients and their coworkers in which they will be teaching their students all day and then holding presentations for groups of inquisitive parents over the course of the evening.

How about offering to bring in dinner for them that day to help keep them going? The dinner could be something as easy as a couple of six-foot-long subs, or a few of trays of pasta from a local pizzeria. You’ll also need to provide them with some beverages. The restaurant or deli you order from will most likely provide you with the plates, napkins and plastic utensils.

Don’t forget to have a flyer by the food with your company-approved information on it so they know who to thank for appreciating all they do.

Editor’s Note: This is part of the Advisor Alley series, brief articles that provide a quick read about activities that other advisors are engaging in to serve their existing clients and prospect for new clients in this ever-changing environment in which we are all working.
