The Roth 403(b) Option: The Opportunity With Both Ongoing Contributions and Conversions

LISTEN NOW! The webcast is free for NTSA members!

Available through November 7, 2014

Speakers: Ellie Lowder, TGPC, Consultant & Kent D. Schutte, CFP, TGPC, CLU, ChFC, LUTCF, President/CEO of EFS Advisors

A growing number of employers are interested in making the Roth option available to their employees, but aren’t sure the steps to take. Financial Advisors and Third Party Administrators can not only help engage and direct the employer, but can provide vital comparative information to eligible employees.  Everyone benefits – the employer with increased participation; the employee with new motivation to get started on retirement savings, and the financial advisor with increased production – and, a new relationship with the employer.

Attendee Takeaways

  • Understand the steps in adding the Roth option to the 403(b) (and/or the governmental 457(b)) plan.
  • Learn how to help your employer client take those steps.
  • Learn to use the tools your TPA or product provider(s) can supply.
  • Learn to overcome the unspoken objection “who will help our employees understand the differences between pre-tax contributions and Roth contributions to our plans”.
  • Understand how the conversion of pre-tax assets to the Roth option works.
