2016 has been one of those years where we have seen many changes and clarifications from both the IRS and DOL. We have received proposed regulations on 457(b) and (f) plans; final DOL Fiduciary rule; EPCU projects relating to 403(b)s and 457 plans; and a big uptick in IRS audits! This webcast will cover hot topics in the 403(b)/457 industry and include regulatory updates as well as refresher topics on subjects that generate frequently asked questions through TechTalk; and what the IRS is now looking at in audits. About the Speaker:

Susan D. Diehl, QPA, CPC, for over 25 years has been president of PenServ, which offers retirement plan services, including technical manuals, monthly news publications, hotline services, plan administration, plan documents, administrative forms, continuing professional education seminars, and in-house training and review of plan documents and administrative procedures. She previously spent eight years as vice president and director of technical services for a national consulting firm, and before that, six years as assistant vice president and administrator of retirement services for a large bank. Susan served a three-year term on the IRS’ Advisory Committee on Tax Exempt and Government Entities (ACT), and served on the Employee Plans subcommittee.

Ellie A. Lowder, TGPC, is a consultant with TSA Consulting Services and has been involved in the 403(b) tax-sheltered account markets since 1961 and is a highly sought-after independent consultant for the retirement plans of public education and 501(c)(3) employers. Ellie served as national sales director, qualified annuities for Transamerica Life & Annuity Company, and chief marketing officer for Delta Life & Annuity. She manages, edits, and writes articles for the NTSA Market Beat newsletter; and assists with the development of comment letters to the IRS and Treasury on issues relevant to 403(b) and 457(b) plans. Ellie has also served on the ASBO Retirement Plan Council to help develop criteria, guidelines, and tools for ASBO members to use to comply with and maintain their 403(b) plans under the final 403(b) regulations.
