NTSA Summer 2018 Advocacy Update

A lot has been happening in Washington and the state capitals. And the NTSA has been actively involved in representing your interests and those of the clients and participants you serve. Now in the NTSA Summer 2018 Advocacy Update, you will hear about these recent developments.

Joseph A. Caruso III, J.D., M.S.P.P.M., Government Affairs Counsel, American Retirement Association, will provide an update that will cover key legislative and regulatory developments at the state and federal levels.

At the federal level, he will discuss:

• Tax Reform 2.0;

• the Automatic Retirement Plan Act;

• the Retirement Enhancement and Savings Act and the Automatic Retirement Plan Act; and

• the fiduciary standard of care at the Department of Labor (DOL), at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in the states. 

At the state level, Caruso will address legislation concerning:

• automatic enrollment;

• pension reform;

• open 403(b) provider access; and

• standard of care.
