Labor Secretary’s Nomination Hearing Postponed Again

The Senate Health, Education Labor & Pensions (HELP) Committee has delayed Labor Secretary nominee R. Alexander Acosta’s confirmation hearing another week.

The hearing was originally slated for March 15, but will now take place March 22 at 9:00 a.m.

Citing a statement by a spokesperson for HELP Chairman Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.), Politico Pro reported the hearing was delayed because “because Chairman Alexander will be joining President Trump in Nashville on Wednesday.”

Andrew Puzder, President Trump’s initial nominee for Secretary of Labor, had several hearings scheduled and revised before withdrawing his name from consideration. Originally scheduled for Jan. 17, Puzder’s confirmation hearing was delayed three times and had finally been set for Feb. 16; he withdrew the day before.
