Tamara Indianer, 2018 NTSA President, and Brent Neese, NTSA’s Executive Director, offered a look at the organization’s status at the Jan. 23 opening session of the 2018 NTSA Summit in Houston. They also outlined where the NTSA is heading, and called on members to continue to be actively involved.
Neese outlined the NTSA’s plans regarding webcasts, education efforts, technical advice, resources upon which members can draw, research and white papers. He also discussed the organization’s efforts to expand volunteerism. “You have a unique opportunity to help create security,” Neese said, exhorting members to remember the impact they have.
Indianer struck a similar tone, noting the importance of demonstrating the impact the organization can have and the importance of engaging members by efficiently communicating about the resources the NTSA offers.
“We need to be involved before it’s too late,” Indianer said regarding advocacy efforts and state activity in the 403(b) sector. “We’re all in this together, and together we can move mountains,” she said.
