Q. According to The Source for 403(b) and 457(b) plans, mandatory distributions from a nongovernmental 457(b) must begin no later than 60 days following the end of the plan year in which the participant severed service. Is this still the case?
A. Yes, but you need to check the plan document. Most plans permit the employee to defer the distribution but not later than the year they attain age 70½.
