Q. What are some steps we can take to make plan data more secure?
A. The Security Summit, a group composed of representatives of 62 state and private-sector offices as well as the IRS, suggests multi-factor authentication as well as use of additional measures and tools, including:
- anti-virus software, set for automatic updates;
- firewalls;
- backup software/services;
- drive encryption; and
- virtual private networks.
