Q. What are 403(b) plan optional features?
A. An employer may—but is not required to—offer some features, such as:
- Roth 403(b) contributions;
- catch-up contributions,
- loans; and
- hardship disributions.
Important: if an employer permits an optional feature, the terms and conditions under which that feature is made available must be part of the written 403(b) plan.
