The NTSA Elite Advisor Award is in its fifth year. Established in 2014, it recognizes the contributions of advisors who, by their actions and example, have advanced best practice standards in the 403(b) and/or 457 retirement industry — and, in so doing, have improved the ability of American workers to build a successful retirement. Bob D. Schiller Award

The 2018 winner of NTSA’s Bob D. Schiller Award is Paul Indianer.

The NTSA presented this year's Schiller Award to Indianer to honor his lifetime achievements and meritorious service. He is described as an NTSA pioneer, a “recruiter extraordinaire,” a passionate advisor, a meaningful manager and as the “Willie Mays of TSAs.” Indianer was very supportive of the founding of the NTSA and instrumental in its success, and served on its Board for years; he also is credited with establishing NTSA’s close working relationship with the IRS.

Accepting the award on Indianer’s behalf was his youngest daughter, Tamara Indianer, NTSA’s 2018 President. She recounted that an advisor once said to her, “I owe my career to your father” — and that the advisor then glanced around the room and remarked, “No, we all owe our careers to your father.”

The NTSA Bob D. Schiller Award recognizes individuals who have given freely of themselves, their time and resources to the NTSA and to the 403(b)/457 industry individuals who have done above and beyond expectations. The award is named in memory of Bob Schiller, an enthusiastic supporter of the NTSA who devoted his time and energy to its success and was a mentor to many in NTSA. The organization created the award following Schiller’s death in 2006.
